This feature is currently only available in a closed beta.
Stay tuned, as it will be available for everybody soon.
With scheduled payments you can:
Set future payment dates for approved invoices and reimbursements: stay in control and align payments with your internal policies and supplier terms.
Automate bulk and individual payment runs: save time on manual tasks and reduce month-end pressure for your finance team.
Manage payments across accounts payable and reimbursements in one place: centralise execution and gain real-time visibility over all outgoing spend with Moss.
How to schedule a payment
When you open a payment, in the payment drawer you can select whether you would like to pay an item immediately or schedule it for later.
When you select "Schedule for later", if there is a due date in the future, Moss will suggest an execution date based on the estimated arrival of the payment which will result in the invoice being paid by the due date. If the due date is in the past, then the suggestion will be the next business day.
You can also select a custom execution date.
Note that when the execution date is set too close to the due date (depending on the payment) or after the due date, the estimated arrival will be after the due date and highlighted accordingly.
Release payment to be scheduled
Once the execution date has been set, you can go ahead and click Schedule, which will then prompt you to authorise the payment with 2FA. Once the authorisation is completed, the payment will transition to the SCHEDULED
status and it will be on the Scheduled tab.
Note: when using 4-eyes payment authorisation, the execution date can be set already on the Prepare tab. After the first authorisation the payment will move to the Release tab and require the second authorisation to be released and successfully scheduled.
Scheduling payments in foreign currencies
You can schedule foreign currency payments individually or in bulk.
Just note:
The exchange rate shown when releasing the payment is indicative.
The final rate is applied on the execution date.
We'll always flag this when currency conversion is involved.
The Scheduled tab
You can find all scheduled payments in the Scheduled tab.
From here, you can take individual or bulk actions to do the following:
Cancel: Send the payment back to the “Release” tab.
Reschedule: Pick a new execution date.
Pay now: If you want to send the payment earlier than planned; this will release the payment immediately after authorising it.
Payment executions
Scheduled payments are automatically initiated and executed on their execution date.
Once successful, they’ll move to the Paid tab with their corresponding balance movements ready for export.
⚠️ Make sure your Moss balance covers all upcoming payments.
If there isn’t enough available balance, one or more scheduled payments may fail.
Save time with bulk scheduling
Prepare payments by setting the execution date
You can select as many payments as needed and choose:
To arrive by due date: Moss determines the execution date using invoice due dates and the estimated arrival of each payment, so they reach the recipient on time. This way, you don't need to look at each individual due dates to prepare a set of payments.
Set a custom date: pick one execution date for all selected payments, for example, to align with your payment run.
Release payments to be scheduled in bulk
The last step is to go ahead and release all the selected payments. Note that payments that will be scheduled will have a specific icon on the list.
Clicking "Schedule" will start the standard 2FA process to authorise the release of the selected payments to be scheduled. Once completed, they will be found on the Scheduled tab.
Automate the execution dates for invoice payments
Speed things up even more. Set Moss to automatically assign execution dates for incoming invoices on the Payments page, based on due dates and estimated arrival.
It works just like the "To arrive by due date" bulk action, but fully automated.
The next step is to release payments in bulk by completing 2FA.
