Connect Guide | 3. Export data from Moss and import it into Odoo

This is the third article in our Odoo Guide, which explains how you can export data from Moss into Odoo.

If you have questions about connecting Moss and Odoo, please read the first and second articles in this guide first.

Once your integration has been configured successfully, you can export expenses directly from Moss into Odoo.

This article explains:

Open the Export page

Follow these steps to access exports:

  1. Open Moss.

  2. Click 'Export' in the navigation menu.

  3. Select one of the export categories:

    • Card transactions

    • Invoices

    • Reimbursements

    • Balance Movements (Bank Transactions)

    • Prepayment Releases


Export card transactions from Moss into Odoo

To export card transactions:

  1. Open 'Export'.

  2. Select 'Card transactions'.

  3. If you want to export all transactions at once, simply click on the box at the top of all items to select all.

  4. To export the items, click on “Export items.” The number will change depending on how many items you have selected.

  5. A side window will open where you have to click on “Export” at the bottom.

  6. Press “Export” to send transactions directly to Odoo

Export invoices from Moss into Odoo

To export invoices:

  1. Make sure you are in the “Invoices” tab.

  2. Now select the invoices you want to export.

  3. If you want to export all invoices at once, simply click on the box at the top of all items to select all.

  4. To export the items, click on “Export items.” The number will change depending on how many items you have selected.

  5. A side window will open where you have to click on “Export” at the bottom.

  6. Click “Export” to send transactions directly to Odoo.

Export reimbursements from Moss into Odoo

To export reimbursements:

  1. Make sure you are in the “Reimbursements” tab.

  2. Now select the reimbursements you want to export.

  3. If you want to export all reimbursements at once, simply click on the box at the top of all items to select all.

  4. To export the items, click on “Export items.” The number will change depending on how many items you have selected.

  5. A side window will open where you have to click on “Export” at the bottom.

  6. Click “Export” to send transactions directly to Odoo.

Export balance movements from Moss into Odoo

Follow these steps to export your balance movements from Moss and import them into Odoo.

  1. Make sure you are in the “balance movements” tab.

  2. Now select the balance movements you want to export.

  3. If you want to export all balance movements at once, simply click on the box at the top of all items to select all.

  4. To export the items, click on “Export items.” The number will change depending on how many items you have selected.

  5. A side window will open where you have to click on “Export” at the bottom.


How Moss posts into Odoo

All exported expenses are created as accounting entries in Odoo using the coding configured in Moss.

They (card transactions, AP invoices, employee reimbursements) are posted as purchase journal entries in Odoo with the coding from Moss and the receipts attached. Moss attaches an audit protocol in addition to the actual receipt.

Every transaction paid from Moss (card transactions, paid from Moss Wallet) are reconciled against the Moss Wallet balance account with a bank journal entry on your Moss Bank Journal.

You can find Moss exports under “Accounting” > “Journal Entries”.

All purchase entries have the documents from moss attached. Moss attaches an Audit protocol as an additional document to document expense processes in Moss.

Every transaction that has been paid with Moss (credit card payments or Pay with Moss Wallet transfers) will appear as reconciled in Odoo.

You can find the payment transactions when opening the "Payments" list on your Moss Wallet Bank account. To open the list, click the three dots on the dashboard for your Moss Wallet Bank. Then click "Payments"

⚠️ As transactions are being imported as fully reconciled supplier payments, they will not appear on the "Transactions" list of your Moss bank account.
