Setup | 3. Export Data from Moss and Import it into DATEV Unternehmen Online

This is the third article in our DATEV Unternehmen Online (DUO) guide. You'll learn how to export data from Moss and import it into DATEV DUO.

You can export card transactions, invoices, and reimbursements from Moss as complete accounting records with document images to DATEV Unternehmen Online.

Below you'll find a step-by-step guide on how to export different data and process bookings in DATEV.

Follow these steps to access the export page:

  1. Open Moss

  2. Click on "Export" in the feature overview

  3. Read one of the instructions below, depending on which expenses you want to export.


Exporting expenses

Export card transactions from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO

Follow these steps to export your card transactions from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO.

  1. Make sure that you are on the tab "Card transactions".

  2. Choose the card transaction you want to export. If you want to export all transactions at once, you can click the checkbox and select all transactions at once.

  3. Click "Export items" to export elements. The number changes depending on how many elements you have selected.

  4. A side panel opens. Select the period in which card transaction(s) are to be posted. Then click on "Export" below.

Export invoices from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO

Follow these steps to export your invoices from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO.

  1. Make sure that you are on the tab "Invoices".

  2. Choose the invoice you want to export. If you want to export all invoices at once, you can click the checkbox and select all invoices at once.

  3. Click "Export items" to export the elements. The number changes depending on how many elements you have selected.

  4. A side panel opens. Select the period in which invoices are to be posted. Then click on "Export" below.

Export reimbursement from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO

Follow these steps to export your reimbursements from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO.

  1. Make sure that you are on the tab "Reimbursements".

  2. Choose the reimbursement you want to export. If you want to export all reimbursements at once, you can click the checkbox and select all reimbursements at once.

  3. Click "Export items" to export the elements. The number changes depending on how many elements you have selected.

  4. A side panel opens. Select the period in which reimbursements are to be posted. Then click on "Export" below.

Export balance movements from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO

Follow these steps to export your balance movements from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO.

  1. Make sure that you are on the tab "Balance movements".

  2. Choose the account movements you want to export. If you want to export all account movements at once, you can click the checkbox and select all balance movements at once.

  3. Click "Export items" to export the elements. The number changes depending on how many elements you have selected.

  4. A side panel opens. Select the period in which account movements are to be posted. Then click on "Export" below.

Export prepaid expenses from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO

Follow these steps to export your prepaid expenses from Moss and import them into DATEV DUO.

  1. Make sure that you are on the tab "Prepaid expenses".

  2. Choose the prepaid expense(s) you want to export. If you want to export all prepaid expenses at once, you can click the checkbox and select all entries at once.

  3. Click "Export items" to export the elements. The number changes depending on how many elements you have selected.

  4. A side panel opens. Select the period in which aRAP resolution entries are to be posted. Then click on "Export" below.


Provide, view and edit exported receipts in DATEV Unternehmen

Providing receipts

Postings from Moss no longer need to be processed in Unternehmen Online. They can be made available for batch processing with a single click.

  1. Open "Belege" > "Belege bereitstellen".

  2. Click under "Bereitstellen" on "XX Belege bereitstellen".

  3. Select the batch to be made available (Moss imports all receipts into the folder "Eingangsrechnungen") and click on "Bereitstellen" at the bottom right.

Viewing receipts in "Bereitstellen"

  1. You can open the batch in this view and see the receipts by clicking on the arrow under "Belege".

  2. Credit card transactions and invoices or reimbursements with payments from Moss, as well as topup bookings to the Moss wallet, are transferred as two receipts. One receipt books the expense, the other (with a negative sign) books the payment from Moss. Find out more about the booking logic here.

  3. By clicking on the receipt symbol, you can see the receipts here. Besides the receipt, Moss also attaches the audit log, recording the processing in Moss.

  4. In addition, when importing from third-party systems, DATEV automatically generates a so-called "Rechnungseingansliste" that logs the posting data transferred via the interface. This document is attached as the last receipt.

Viewing receipts in the "Lieferantenrechnung" overview

You can also open invoices in the section "Lieferantenrechnungen" and the editing mask.

  1. Open "Belege" > "Lieferantenrechnugen" > "Alle".

  2. Filer by a specific period and today's date to display receipts imported from Moss today.

    Payment bookings appear as "Guschrift" but are posted correctly in Rechnungwesen.

  3. Receipts can be displayed in the editing mask by double-clicking. Besides the receipt, Moss also attaches the audit log, recording the processing in Moss.

  4. In addition, when importing from third-party systems, DATEV automatically generates a so-called "Rechnungseingansliste" that logs the posting data transferred via the interface. This document is attached as the last receipt.


Posting receipts in DATEV Rechnungswesen

  1. Open the client inventory in DATEV Rechnungewesen.

  2. You can retrieve data from the datacenter using the "Mandant ergänzen" button under the "Vorbereitende Tätigkeiten" tab on the left.

  3. Select "Kassen-/Rechnungsstapel aus Kassenbuch/Belege online" AND "Beleg-/Buchungsstapel und Stammdaten (RZ)", then click on "Daten holen".

  4. Once the import from the datacenter is complete, a notification will appear at the bottom right, showing that the processing is finished.

  5. To post the imported stack, click "Vorbereitende Tätigkeiten" > "Stapelverarbeitung".

  6. You can select the imported stack by double-clicking on the receipt batch.

  7. Name the booking batch accordingly and confirm by clicking "OK".

  8. You can then access the imported stack under "Belege buchen".

  9. In the booking batch, transactions are shown as fully posted. You can open the receipt from Beleg Online via the document icon on the left in the "BL" column.

Card transactions and other invoices and reimbursements paid via the Moss wallet are imported with an expense entry and a balancing payment entry. The supplier is automatically cleared.
