Setting up teams

As an administrator, you can set up teams in Moss and assign each employee to their respective team. Setting up teams is easily done via the People & Teams page.

When setting up a team, you simply choose which users should be part of this team. If you’re using Teams as cost centers, you can also assign a cost center account to each team.

Why should I set up teams with Moss?

Setting up teams helps you keep track of spend per team, ensures all team spend is booked to your relevant cost center accounts and allows you to assign Team Leads, who will be responsible for managing any incoming purchase requests from their team.

Team Lead in Moss

You can assign a Team Lead to any of your existing teams, or while setting up new teams in Moss. This section will cover what responsibilities and permissions the Team Lead has in Moss, and who can become one.

The Team Lead in Moss is mainly responsible for one thing; managing card- and payment requests for their team members. This will help free up valuable time for the Moss Administrators, and also ensures that the person who knows most about their team is able to manage and control the team’s spend accordingly.

Managing payment requests as a Team lead

The same person can be a team lead for multiple teams. As a team lead, you’re assigned certain approval limits by your administrator that controls up to which amounts you are allowed to approve cards and payment requests for. If you’re a team lead for multiple teams, you can have different approval limits per each team. You can also have different approval limits for single purchase card requests and monthly recurring cards, such as subscription cards or standard virtual cards with monthly limits.

All payment requests from your team members that are within your approval limits can be approved (or rejected) in just a couple of clicks. If anyone in your team requests a payment that exceeds your approval limit, this request is directed to your Moss administrators, but you will still receive a notification about the request and follow the status of the request.

Once the admin has approved this particular request, you’ll be able to view the card under your team - as with any other card possessed by your team member.

Managing your team as a Team lead

Apart from managing any payment requests of your team members, you are also able to do the following as a team lead:

  • Add and remove users from your team - You can assign any user who is not already part of a team in Moss to your team. Further, you can at any point unassign a user from your own team.

  • View & manage your team members' transactions - Track the purchases made by your team in real-time. And review their receipts.
