Step 3: Connect your HR Software

Note: You can also invite your team manually if you don't want to connect your HR Software. Just skip ahead to Step 4: Invite your team.

  1. Go to User management, navigate to the “HR Software” tab and click Connect HR software or click here.

  2. Choose your HR software in the dropdown of available tools to connect.

  3. Grant Moss access to fetch relevant information on users from your HR software account.

  4. Generate API credentials from within your HR software. This is done differently depending on the software you use. If you have problems finding how to, the person managing your HR software should know!

  5. Copy your API credentials and go back to Moss, paste them in and click “Set up integration”

  6. Voilà! You’ve successfully connected Moss with your HR software account. You can now proceed with mapping your teams in your HRIS with Moss, inviting new employees to Moss or linking manually invited employees to Moss with your HRIS to make sure the data is always synced for all your Moss users.

How to map teams in your HRIS with teams in Moss

When you have connected the HR software to Moss, you are able to map teams from your software to teams in Moss. This helps you further to set up appropriate approval policies as well as streamline accounting automation. You can either decide to have a 1-to-1 mapping of teams in your HR software and Moss, or decide to map multiple teams in your HR software to the same team in Moss.

If you already have created teams in Moss, you can simply select the one you wish to map your HR software team to. If you have not set up teams in Moss yet, you can easily create new teams based on the teams you have in your HR software, all in the same flow.

How to link existing employees in Moss with your HRIS

If you have already invited users to Moss manually, before connecting Moss to your HR software, we highly recommend you to link and sync these employees with your own software. This ensures that you leverage all benefits listed above in automated offboarding, fetching of relevant data and minimising risk of data discrepancies between your tools.

  1. Open up and login to the Moss platform

  2. Go to “Users & Teams” and open the “HR software” tab

  3. Click “manage” users

  4. This will take you to the “Link employees” flow.

  5. Here, you see a list of all employees that are users in Moss, that we also found a match for in your HR software based on their email address.

  6. You will see an overview of what employee data we were able to sync from your HR software

  7. When done, just click “Save” and all your Moss users will be linked with your own HR software.

How to invite new users to Moss via your HR software

Whenever you onboard new employees to your HR software, and have connected Moss with it, we will detect that and help you invite these new employees to Moss in a breeze!

Note that we are not automatically inviting your newly onboarded employees to Moss, so even when you have connected your HRIS with Moss - you are in control of who of your employees should have access to Moss.

  1. Login to the Moss platform

  2. Go to “Users & Teams”. On the “Users” tab, you will see an “Invite users” button that you click.

  3. You’ll be presented with different options of inviting users, and should select “Invite users via HR”

  4. That will take you to the flow, looking like the screenshot above. In this list, you see all employees that are in your HR system, and not invited to Moss yet.

  5. To easily find which employees you want to invite, you can filter by team or cost center.

  6. In the list, you will also see which team in Moss the user will be assigned to, based on the team mapping you’ve done previously. If an employee is assigned to a team in your HR software that you haven’t mapped to a team in Moss, we will flag that to you.

  7. Once you’ve selected the employees you want to invite, just click “Save” and we will trigger an invitation to all those users. Like a breeze!
