Domestic payments
Pay with Moss allows you to pay suppliers and employees with instant domestic bank transfers.
For UK customers: instant GBP payments via Faster Payments
For EEA customers: instant EUR SEPA payments where the creditor is reachable and for payments under €100k. Otherwise payments are cleared as standard SEPA credit transfers.
International payments
Note: international payments are currently only available for EEA customers.
Pay with Moss allows you to pay supplier invoices and employee reimbursements globally, optimising for local payment rails whenever possible over SWIFT for faster clearing and more efficient payment fees.
Fees
Payment fees are applied to specific countries and currencies depending on whether SWIFT or local payment rails are used, as well as the standard FX fee (which may also be outlined in a customer quote). The full list of payment fees can be found in the Pay with Moss Fee Schedule during onboarding and it is linked on the Payments tab.
How Moss optimises for cost-effective international payments
At Moss, we ensure businesses can move money efficiently across borders without unnecessary costs. By leveraging local payment rails whenever possible, we reduce transaction fees and accelerate payment speed.
Local Payment Rails: faster and cost-effective
Through our partnership with Airwallex and its global banking network, Moss enables payments via local rails in supported currencies and countries. This significantly cuts fixed costs compared to traditional cross-border methods like SWIFT.
Whenever possible, Moss intelligently routes payments through local rails when the transaction currency matches the recipient’s local currency.
Example of payments via local rails:
✅ GBP → UK payee (Faster Payments)
✅ USD → US payee (ACH)
✅ EUR → EU SEPA countries (SEPA Credit Transfer)
Note: Local payouts require the recipient’s local bank account details.
SWIFT: when local rails aren't an option
SWIFT is one of the most widely used systems for sending cross-border payments, acting as a messaging network that facilitates the communication between banks globally, allowing for international wire transfers to be processed through its system and intermediary banks. However, SWIFT transactions typically come with higher fixed costs due to intermediary bank fees.
Moss automatically selects SWIFT when a payment is made in a currency that differs from the recipient’s local account currency—ensuring full international reach.
Examples of SWIFT transfers:
✅ EUR → Swiss account
✅ USD → Hong Kong account
✅ USD → UK account (when the recipient specifies IBAN & SWIFT/BIC details)
Transparent Fees: Moss applies the “OUR” SWIFT fee structure, meaning the sender covers all transaction costs—ensuring the recipient gets the full amount without unexpected deductions.
