What user roles exist in Moss?

There are five different types of users that exist on Moss

  • Admins

  • Internal accountants

  • External accountants

  • Team lead

  • Users

Which permissions do different user types have

Admins

Admins are, for example, CEO, CFO or other team members in the company who are responsible for expense management. They enjoy full administrative privileges in Moss, so they can issue and freeze cards, set limits, approve payments, determine team leads, and more.

Internal accountants

Internal accountants have access to all accounting functions in Moss. This means that they can, among other things, create and assign cost objects and categories, send document reminders and export all accounting-relevant transaction data via the API. In addition, just like normal team members, they can request cards and payments and have them approved by admins or team leads.

External Accountant

External Accountants have all the same capabilities as the internal accountant except the ability to request cards and reimbursements.

Team Leads

Team leads enjoy enhanced approval permissions in Moss that allow them to approve payments within a certain range, issue cards to individual employees, and set individual payment limits on their own. However, for approvals that exceed their set approval limit, Team Leads must also contact the Admin(s).

Users

Users can be added to Moss by admins and team leads in any number. These are all team members who can in turn request payments or cards, upload receipts and invoices, and view their card limits.
