Oracle Netsuite supports multiple cost dimensions. In Moss it's possible to use dimensions that refer to classes, departments, locations, projects and custom segments in Oracle Netsuite.
This article describes how to load these dimensions in Moss and how to use them.
Oracle Netsuite setup
This section only describes changes to be done in order to enable dimensions/projects support, for the initial setup please refer to the setup guide here.
If you do not use a specific role for Moss, then no additional steps are required.
Otherwise, if you use a dedicated role, please add permissions to necessary elements in a specific role on "Setup" > "Users/Roles" > "Manage Roles" page.
Select a role that is used by Moss and make sure that necessary items are added:
Classes, Departments, Locations, Projects are added in Permissions > Lists section.
Add Custom segments in "Permissions" > "Setup" section
Adding dimensions to Moss
Once Oracle Netsuite configuration is complete, you may add dimensions in Moss on "Settings" > "Accounting" > "Dimensions" tab.
Click "Add / Import dimension" button.
Select the dimension you want to add and a "Display name" that will be used in Moss.
Synchronisation starts automatically. On this page you can mark unnecessary items as "inactive", in this case Moss will not be trying to resynchronise marked items automatically.
An overview shows you a list of imported dimensions and the number of active items in each of them.
Now, when exporting spend, you can specify dimensions on a side drawer, in our case Class, Department and Project are filled.
On export, dimensions are automatically applied to a line item in Oracle Netsuite.
