This article describes how to setup AFAS to enable additional dimensions and projects and how to use them in Moss.

With AFAS it's possible to use up to 5 dimensions (Allocation axes) and separately Projects with Cost items.

Common setup

The sections below only describing changes to be applied to the existing connectivity. Please refer to the general AFAS connection setup article for details on how to setup a connection between Moss and AFAS.

Setting up AFAS to work with additional dimensions

Dimensions are coming from the Profit_Allocation_Assignments GetConnector, please make sure that the AppConnector you've setup for Moss contains this GetConnector:

  • Profit_Allocation_Assignments

Setting up AFAS to work with Projects

To enable Projects in Moss, please add 2 GetConnectors below to the AppConnector you've setup:

  • DDI_Kosten (profit)

  • Profit_Projects

AFAS requires to specify an "Item" when attributing invoice to a project.

In Moss "Item" is considered as a separate dimension and when attributing Project to spend in Moss you also need to specify an Item as well:

Note: If you do not want to specify an "Item" when exporting spend from Moss to AFAS then please create an item called "MOSS" in AFAS and it will be used automatically while exporting:

Adding dimensions to Moss

Once the AFAS setup is complete you can go to Moss and add all available dimensions from AFAS on Settings->Accounting->Dimensions tab.

Click "Add / Import dimension" button.

Select the dimension (Allocation axis) you want to add and a "Display name" that will be used in Moss.

Synchronisation starts automatically. On this page you can mark unnecessary items as "inactive", in this case Moss will not be trying to resynchronise marked items automatically.

An overview shows you a list of imported dimensions and the number of active items in each of them.

Now, when exporting spend, you can specify dimensions on a side drawer, in our case Cost center, Project and Cost are filled.
