The phone number is used to log in to Moss or to approve transactions that require a 2-step-verfication.

For the log in, it is also possible to use an authenticator app. However, the transaction approval process for certain online transactions will still require your phone number and you can be asked to enter an SMS code to approve the transaction. Thus, we do not recommend to use phone numbers that you do not have easy access to or landlines.
