Who can connect the Moss Receipt Finder


Only Administrators are able to connect the Moss Receipt Finder to Moss.

Before you can do this, your email workspace administrator has to enable the receipt finder in their Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 Outlook account.

Only then will you be able to connect the receipt finder to your companies Moss account.

After this has been done, each employee has to go in individually and enable the Moss receipt finder for their own profile.

How to connect the Receipt Finder in Moss


Receipt Finder is a tool that allows you to automatically fetch receipts for card transactions. It can connect to your email inbox or via a direct integration with our partners. In order to activate the Receipt Finder, you will need to follow these steps:

  1. Open up and login to the Moss web app.

  2. Navigate to "Settings" > "Receipt finder"

  3. Choose the system you want to connect to and then click on the "Connect" button.

  4. Follow the instructions provided to sign in to your account and grant the necessary permissions to the Receipt Finder.

  5. Once you've successfully connected, the connection status will be reflected by a green "Connected" badge.

After you connect


When connected, the receipt finder will be fetching receipts for existing transactions. As we support a selected list of key merchants, all applicable transactions will have the “Receipt Upcoming” status in Moss.

The receipt finder will continue searching your emails for the receipt for up to 7 days after the transaction date. Once the receipt is fetched automatically, it will be marked as "Attached Automatically" in your Moss account.

If no receipt could be found within 7 days, you will have to attach it yourself. We will send an email about this. In general, you can attach a receipt to any of the transactions at any point in time.

Email specifics (Gmail and Outlook)


To minimise the amount of times we scan your email inbox, Moss Receipt Finder only fetches receipts from a list of key merchants, and only for transactions that have already occurred. If there was no transaction, we will not access your inbox at all. If there is a transaction with one of the supported merchants, we will try to fetch it every day until we manage to fetch it. In the unlikely event that we are not able to find the receipts in 7 days, we will stop accessing your inbox, and you will need to provide the receipt yourself.

Disconnect the Receipt Finder


You can disconnect the tool at any time for your whole company.

Please be aware that once you disconnect the tool, none of your employees will be able to use the Receipt finder anymore.

  1. Go to "Settings" > "Receipt finder"

  2. There you can disconnect the receipt finder from Moss
