In this article, you’ll learn what the Receipt Agent is, what it can do, and how to enable it.
The Receipt Agent is an AI-based assistant that helps collect missing receipts via Slack, so finance teams can spend less time on manual chasing and concentrate on higher-value work.
Note: You need to have Moss connected to Slack, before you can enable the Receipt Agent. Learn how to do it here.
What can the Receipt Agent do?
The Receipt Agent assists employees with collecting receipts in Slack, including:
proactively reaching out in Slack DMs when receipts are missing
collecting receipt documents directly in the chat
helping match and attach receipts to the correct transaction (and asking for confirmation when needed)
collecting an ETA when the receipt isn’t available yet (e.g., “tomorrow” or “Wednesday noon”) and following up when it fits best
How to enable the Receipt Agent
The Receipt Agent is enabled via the Slack integration settings:
Log in to Moss.
Go to "Settings" > "Notifications".
In the Slack section, open Slack integration settings.
Toggle on Auto-chase receipts from employees via Receipt Agent.
Follow the on-screen steps to confirm the Slack connection.
Already connected to Slack
Depending on when you connected your Moss account to Slack, you might need to reconnect to Slack. If this is the case for you, a prompt will automatically pop up once you try to enable the Receipt Agent. Follow the on-screen steps to reconnect.
